Summary/Abstract: Since the end of the First World War and up to present, Mihail Guiu’s name has remained a mystery for the Romanian historiography. The memorial and the documents regarding the Bolshevik movement from Russia and Hungary (1918-1920) have described him as a volunteer of the Romanian Army or as a participant in the revolution from Russia and Soviet Hungary. His ranking within the Bolsheviks from Russia and Hungary has generated numerous questions referring to the goals of his actions. This mystery that has covered the personality of Mihail Guiu has been solved due to the existence of unpublished materials found in the Archives from Bucureşti; the documents mentioned demonstrate that this historic character has been a secret agent for a certain period of his life. He has been invested by the Romanian state with various secret missions with the aim of supervising the Romanians from the international communist organizations.
