The axiological factor in the expressions with the component „вадеть”/ „widzieć” ( ‘to see’)

Summary/Abstract: The author touches on the question of presence of an evaluative element in the realizations of verbs вадеть / widzieć (‘to see’) on the basis of lexicographical material. The analysis shows that apart from evaluating of the visual perception as value in itself in the context of important life functions, the verbs вадеть / widzieć (‘to see’) create a base for evaluative expressions in relation to other elements of reality, clearly emphasizing the priority of the visual perception in the linguistic world’s image.
