Summary/Abstract: The digitization of the Christian Sower started in autumn 2011 and ended in spring 2012. The following institutions participated in the process of digitization: Transylvanian Museum Society, National Széchényi Library, Arcanum Database Ltd., Pro Hungaris Foundation and University Library of Szeged. Financial sponsor was the Wekerle Sándor Alapkezelő. The study presents the history of the Christian Sower, the intellectual background of the journal and the important personalities of its history: founders (Lajos Nagy, Sámuel Brassai, Elek Jakab, János Kriza, Lőrincz Mikó, László Kőváry, Áron Berde, Antal Kovácsi), authors and editors. It also presents the Christian Sower as a symbol of the moral permanency, structural stability and scientifi c continuity.
