Summary/Abstract: We present in this paper a batch of 45 imperial Roman denarii from the collection of “Vasile Pârvan” Museum in Bârlad. The coins belong to the hoard from Iezer, Puiești commune, Vaslui County. We have also gathered information about other four batches, initially from the same hoard, and at present found in various public and private collections from Romania. Several particular coins, such as subaeratae (5 pc.) and “barbarous” ones (3 pcs.), were identified in the batch composition of the Museum. The denarii subaerati were either copied by casting (3 pcs.) or by striking. Two of the so-called “barbarous” denarii have an exceptional weight, of over 5 g. The hoard from Iezer has a chronological structure similar to the group of hoards found in Moldavia and concluded with coins dated in the time of Severus Alexander.
