Summary/Abstract: The review discusses Joanna Jeziorska-Haładyj’s book on textual exponents of fictional statements. At the outset, the reviewer sketches the state of research in the title problem and sets Jeziorska-Haładyj’s study in its context. Later, he recounts its main conclusions. Separate analyses are carried out on the thesis of metanarration as a determinant of the fiction and on the distinction between free indirect speech and free indirect thought functionalised in the book in question.
