Summary/Abstract: The interview with Polish scholar Wojciech Burszta is dedicated to the modern challenges in front of anthropology and humanities as a whole. The main accents in the conversation are put on the questions connected with the transformations on people’s imaginations about the communities in which they live. The object of discussion are nowadays urban spaces, the places of memory and changes urged by the modern cultural tendencies. Attention is paid on dynamic processes of migration, which transform imagined mapping of national borders, and make people of different identities to share the same – in geographic meaning – space. That puts in a different way the questions of tolerance and relativism in contemporary societies, requires new attitudes towards differences between people and leads to a revaluation of the values. The reflection of these social and cultural processes on the humanities is one of the most important topics in the conversation with prof. Burszta.
