Summary/Abstract: The article presents the topic concerning one of the most important structures in disciplinary and public space of urban life – city of Plovdiv, 19th century, colleges of the Greek and Bulgarian communities, both with humanitarian orientation. In the field of disciplinary and public space the principles of modeling of the personal, as well as of the community and ethnic identities are searched for. The basic information in this research paper is taken from documentary and old – printed literature of the Bulgarian National Revival period of the time, as well as the sources of archive funds and periodicals in Plovdiv Library “ Ivan Vazov “. The research provides the information by first person like “statements of the witness “, the direct supervision or participation often combined with ambition to recognize “the other “,”the different”. Moreover, the article explores some aspects of the group identity in the city classes – professional of the intellectuals – teachers, college students at the time of their transitions from the Medieval centuries to the New modern decades.
