Summary/Abstract: The author emphasises the military merits of the great friend of Romanian people, General Henry M. Berthelot, the commander-in-chief of the Danube allied armies which, in 1918, fought against the German army, as well as the tribute and the gratitude of the Romanian people to the French people and its representatives. The article deals with some events representing significant historical moments of the traditional military and cultural cooperation between France and Romania.
