Some reflections on the position of the German language as an international academic language

Summary/Abstract: The present position of the German language as an international means of communication in various academic aspects and areas is depicted in the article. Among the tools that allow to establish the position of the German language in any academic activity we can enumerate the analysis of its use in publications, the analysis of the citation index of German academic texts by international non-German authors, as well as the analysis of its use during international seminars and conferences. The article also presents the position of the German language in academic teaching.
