Summary/Abstract: The article described the principal (in author’s opinion) trends in Western studies of creativity Afanasy Fet, such as versification, specificity of poetic language, the relationship the Russian poet with literary and philosophical tradition of the West (especially the poetry of the French symbolists and impressionists, as well as with the doctrine of Schopenhauer).
