Summary/Abstract: The establishment of a new scientific discipline – the science of security – places a special challenge before researchers in the scope of determining its objective and methodological identity. The article attempts to answer three essential questions: 1. Is it true that security belongs to controversial concepts whose meaning cannot be conclusively determined? 2. Are security studies and security science identical? 3. What is the research object of security science as a scientific discipline and what is its paradigm?
