CIVILIAN CONTROL OVER THE SECRET SERVICES IN POLAND IN THE LIGHT OF THE LIQUIDATION OF THE MILITARY INFORMATION SERVICES

Summary/Abstract: The article describes the case of the liquidation of the Military Information Services in the context of civilian control over the secret services in Poland. The fundamental thesis is the indication that this liquidation exposed the superficiality and ineffectiveness of the mechanisms of such control. It also brought many measurable losses identified in connection with state security.
