Summary/Abstract: The continuously progressing information revolution and the growing importance of asymmetry in the modern world increase the need for psychological warfare, which is reflected in past and present conflicts. Disinformation is one of the main methods of psychological warfare, and the key role in the process of disinformation is played by secret services as a primary source of information about the enemy. In addition, due to different views on the truth, deficiencies of perception, selective use of information, different assessments of importance of various processes, every piece of information may contain even a quantum of disinformation, often making it difficult to determine what constitutes the objective truth and what is a lie or an element of disinformation. For this reason, it is becoming increasingly complicated to use the existing, traditional methods of disinformation, which implies the need to adapt the intelligence and counter-intelligence services to new situations through the creative and unconventional approach to the task.
