Summary/Abstract: The efforts to establish an interdisciplinary field between gender studies and internal security and police studies have been increasing since 1990's. The aim of this study is to reveal the relationship between the phenomenon of hegemonic masculinity which is the product of feminist epistemology and the concept of police subculture which is the product of police studies. To achieve this aim, an analysis of the male and female performances of the policing profession was conducted by making literature review on hegemonic masculinity and police subculture studies. As a result of the study, it was seen that the police profession, which was accepted as a "Male work" in patriarchal societies, reinforced preliminary assumptions about hegemonic masculinity on both men and women. If the police performance continues to be promoted by masculine performance, the policing institutions would cause the legitimacy of the society to be damaged.
