Summary/Abstract: The event marketing is an important tool of marketing communication. Its effectiveness nowadays depends on the professional prowess of the event organizers, and on their skillful use of the Internet and modern communication technologies. The purpose of this article is to analyze the applicability of the Internet and modern communication technologies in the process of the organization of selected types of events, and its exemplification in the area of marketing communication. The areas of the use of the event marketing in marketing communication are thus identified, as well as the elements of “meeting planning” method, which is an effective tool that supports professional event organizers. Then specific types of events, and the ways of using the Internet and modern communication technologies in the process of their organization are presented.
