Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on the use of the website by secondary schools. The Internet is nowadays regarded as a treasure trove of knowledge, but also an excellent advertising distribution channel . Following this line of thought schools have transformed their websites from a business card model to social and educational portals.The essential function of a school’s webpage is to inform. By placing this information on the Internet, schools move from the information function into the marketing function. Schools, like companies are also beginning to use their websites for internal communication. Their websites allow you to log and go to a predefined service for the group – eg. – lesson plans, timetables, teaching materials. Teachers also have the possibility of placing materials for students andcontact with parents, The Head teacher has on-line access to strategic documents of the school. There are many schools that do not fully use the possibilities of having a website. Some of them do not care about the relevance of information, others do not personalize them for different groups of users. The article analyzes the current state of several randomly selected schools. The author tries to point out good practices, patterns that should become the standard required for entrance.
