Summary/Abstract: The article presents the results of research into the development of electronic administration. The presented research material was collected via individual in-depth interviews as well as focused group interviews. The group of respondents consisted of citizens, businessmen and administrative employees from the Podkarpackie region who use and do not use electronic administration. The results of research have shown that the main reasons of not using electronic administration are: a lack of necessity for using such services, not enough trust in these kinds of contacts as well as the habit of using traditional forms. Nevertheless, most of the respondents, even having somereservations, assessed the direction of changes in the way of settling council matters as positive. They also perceived progress in the number and quality of services available in the Internet. The respondents underline that in most cases elderly people are not interested in such forms of contacts with the local government. They have neither suitable skills nor trust for electronic solutions and are accustomed to contacting administrative offices in person. At the same time respondents stress that young people are interested in new ways of settling official matters. Moreover, due to their modern lifestyles and considerable number of chores, they will be using e-services quite frequently.
