Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the personality and public activity of ethnologist Angelė Vyšniauskaitė (1919–2006), the prominent researcher of Lithuanian rural family. Based on biographic method of a person’s life, this article focuses on the influence of A. Vyšniauskaitė’s personality and the social environment on professor’s public activity.
