Plans for researches on microtoponyms in Poland. Statement

Summary/Abstract: The statement presents the origin of card index of Polish toponyms, which exists in the Departmentof Contemporary Polish Language at the University of Lodz.The statement shows the advantages of gathered material. It also suggests that this materialshould be covered by the study using modern digital methods.It was also proposed to elaborate and publish the names in the form of a computer application(database, browser and search engine) and interactive digital maps.This could give us modern database which would enable efficient manipulation on the largematerial. It would also give us an opportunity to expand the material with new data. Finally, thanksto this database a synthesis of Polish microtoponyms could be elaborated.
