Summary/Abstract: The main aim of the paper is to identify the paradoxes in perceived organizational support (POS) theory. There is employed the critical method of analysis according to Johnson and Duberley who proposed three steps of an examination: insight, critique and transformative redefinitions. The chosen controversial aspects of POS will be analysed and identified paradoxes presented. Firstly, all researchers investigating the concept have been analyzing POS as a homogeneous integrity. SPOS, the only questionnaire, investigates more than one dimension. Secondly, one of the key assumption is saying about personification of organization and agents acting for its behalf. That makes the source of support unclear. The third aspect concerns individual conditions in perceiving support from organization as personality.
