Dialectological Issues of the Kielce Region Shown in the Local Press (as Exemplified by “Radostowa”)

Summary/Abstract: The local press can be a good source for the investigation of the history of Polish dialects, in particular, the dialects of the Kielce region. The collection of language material described in the article comes from the monthly “Radostowa”, published in Kielce in the years 1936–1939 (initially as a literary and scientific biweekly magazine). The material is diversified in terms of form, it includes dialect, folklore, poetry, glossary, etc. The periodical was an expression of interest of the Kielce intelligentsia in their own region, the result of research conducted by local scholars, and the manifestation of the contribution of the Kielce region to the development of nationalculture.
