Culinary events as a tourist attraction

Summary/Abstract: The attractions that can attract tourists to the different parts of the world are, among others, culinary events, which also can be a part of a broader tourism product, e.g. the trail. For the modern tourist a good food is not just an addition to holiday. Tasting local and regional food products significantly increases the satisfaction from the travel. The aim of the article was to present the essence of culinary tourism as well as attractiveness of events related to culinary as determinants influencing the popularity of the countries and regions. The results of the survey confirmed the hypothesis that culinary events can be a magnet attracting tourists to the given country or region whereas culinary tourism arouses growing interest of travelers and makes a great opportunity to promote, also for Poland.
