Summary/Abstract: The phenomenom of the provincial codes inevitably creates an essential part of the publication law. The subject of publication of legal acts itself forms basic law standard, which is supposed to be common knowledge in the day-to-day legal practice. The Silesian provincial code as an official collection of law within an Austrian Habsburg monarchy, established in line with the other provincial codes in the monarchy after core constitutional changes in 1848 is not widely and popularly known even among legal experts. Its rich history deserves to be presented in a whole complex view encompassing its timeline from the commencement to the end in the 20th century. Provincial codes still form part of current Czech legal system.
