Могильник «Змеиная Балка» у с. Кошары, Одесской области
The burial cemetery “Zmeinaya Balka”, near village of Kosary, Odessa district

Summary/Abstract: In 2006 the archaeological expedition of Odessa Archaeological Museum continued excavations at a Late Eneolithic-Early Bronze Age cemetery near the village of Košary where three more burials and two new compounds were found. The skeletons were absent; fragments of pottery, bones and flint tools, zoomorphic and anthropomorphic stones statuettes were discovered. The objects from this cemetery are contemporary with those found at the Late Eneolithic sites Usatovo and Mayaki, and find certain analogy in the Early Catacomb culture of the region. The upper level of the cemetery preserves some material of the Late Bronze Age Sabatinovka culture and is dated to the XIII-XII c. B.C.
