Summary/Abstract: Paul Isakovic, the main protagonist in the novel The Second Book of Migrations by Milos Crnjanski, establishes a deeper sense of history and misfortunes of his people behind the picture of his tragicomic phenomena. Isakovic, namely, opens the ancient memory of his nation: unfortunate fate of the tribes of Israel. Wishing to remain a soldier, to defend the right of death and confirme himself, Paul Isakovic marked openness to the war as an opportunity for a heroic death, which will create the identity of the character in the world of the novel, the identity of an individual and the nation in the world outside of literature, no matter if there was an tempted caricature. This paper examines the (trans) political position of the hero in relation to permanently political active history.
