Summary/Abstract: This study proposes to determine, based on several stylistic considerations and comparative analysis, the extent by which may be attributed to Popa Ioan Grigorievici the painter, the mural paintings from the Orthodox church “St. Paraschevaˮ from Beneşti village (Alţâna commune, Sibiu county). In making the argumentation the author also used results of some previous researchers that recorded presence of the painter in more localities from Valea Hârtibaciului, nearby Beneşti, such as Cornăţel, Copşa Mare, Fofeldea or Ghijasa de Sus. As for Ghijasa de Sus new data are revealed, that were meant to confirm the position that was assumed until now that the priest Ioan Grigorievici the painter held, meaning that of occupant, for almost four decades, of Greek-Catholic parish from the locality. Such statements complete one of the most interesting biographies of artists from Transylvania, at the turn of the 19th century.
