LOGISTIC SUPPORT FOR MEDICAL COUNTER-MEASURES AGAINST BIOLOGICAL OR BIO-TERRORIST ATTACKS

Summary/Abstract: The medical counter-measures against the biological or bio-terrorist attacks are complex and necessitate specialized forces and means in large amounts and in real time (opportunely).Through medical intelligence, decision makers have to know the real situation and asses the short, medium, and long term evolution, in order to estimate correctly the necessary volume of forces and means for medical counter-measures.The timely application of logistic principles and CIMIC cooperation is the only one which may lead to an adequate and efficient logistic support, necessary for giving medical support (applying medical counter-measures) in order to prevent illnesses and to cure the personnel of an operational force subjected to an attack (biological attack), as well as the civilian population in the area of the attack.
