Summary/Abstract: Monumentum Ephesenum is a Greek inscription, a copy of a decision from 62 B.C. and refers to a “locatio” or “pactio” done by the roman consuls Lucius Octavianus and Aurelius Cotta, and followed by several successive additions range between 72 and 37 B.C. It is a legal document that finds some parallels in the text of the chorothesia from Laberius Maximus from Histria. The inscription is a "customs file" of a conflict between the concessionaires of the Roman customs and Histria, called “portorium ripa Thraciae”.
