Summary/Abstract: This paper proposes a thorough analysis of a newly emerged process, which raised interest from various humanistic disciplines in recent years. The escalation of ethnopolitical conflicts almost simultaneously with the collapse of the Soviet Union has become a top interest subject, primarily in the field of political science. The methodological construction for this study uses the conceptual heritage of the general theory of ethnopolitical conflict and the factors which this discipline operates with, in order to deeply penetrate the causality of the historical fact derived from the emergence and evolution of conflicts in Transnistria, Abkhazia and South Ossetia. In this regard, the analysis and the presentation of the "radical leadership" factor evolving (especially in the 1985-1991 period) in the three regions led to the conclusion that a political behavioral pattern existed and Moscow's support for it proved crucial.
