Summary/Abstract: The Foreign Policy Concept of the Russian Federation, approved by President Vladimir Putin on December 1, 2016, includes a new set of objectives underlining the principles included in Kremlin’s strategy of engaging the international arena realities. Unlike the previous official documents, the new Foreign Policy Concept of the Russian Federation reveals its increasing willingness to use the force for achieving its objectives. The document also seeks to bring arguments in favor of the idea that the source of conflicts at regional and global level had as a trigger the Western world’s attempts to impose its own value system on other countries that belong to alternative centers of power. In this sense, Russia appears as a counterbalancing „power pole” aiming at challenging the current world order.
