Summary/Abstract: Terrorism is a big problem of a contemporary world. The terrorists operate on every inhabitet continent of the Earth. There are a lot of definitions of a terrorism and it is difficult to define this concept precisely. There are many ways of classification of this phenomenon. Psychology is a science, which can help people to cope with this problem. Using psychological methods it is, for example, possible to lessen a probability of a terrorist attack, to make easier helping terrorism’s victims and to support the authorities to stand up to terrorists. Psychology has a lot of applications in fighting against terrorism. It is very important to understand that terrorists not only kill their direct victims but also mentally destroy the significant part of a society. One of the most important state’s function is to ensure the security of its citizens. Dangers may come from the nature (drought, flood, fire, earthquake) or may be connected to people activity (water, air and soil pollution, greenhouse effect). Another dangers are warfare, terrorism and weapons of mass dectruction. All the nations should co-operate in fighting against the terrorism.
