Democratic Legitimacy and the Limits of Pluralism

Summary/Abstract: In this paper, the author proposes some reflections concerning the nature of pluralism in a liberal democratic state and its implications for the relations between Church and State. More precisely, an enquiry is undertaken about the way in which the separation between Church and State, which is taken to be central for liberal democracy, should be envisaged when it comes to envisage the relation between religion and politics.
