Summary/Abstract: There exists, within the international legal order, a plethora of instruments, mechanisms and jurisdictions, all constructed around human rights. This XXIst century religion has yielded the most complex normative systems and has raised questions varying from its own conceptual validity to that of norm creation in the contemporary legal framework. The purpose of this analysis is to underline the specific characteristics of international human rights jurisdictions, with a special view onto the European Court of Human Rights and the Court of Justice of the European Union, how such jurisdictions interact, how do competing jurisdictions affect the hierarchy of norms.
