Summary/Abstract: In an age of globalisation, when people are moving more freely and ranging more widely across borders than ever before, the politics of history reflect existential anxieties related to the breakdown of mnemonic rootedness, making the question of whose understanding of the past will be recognised as canonical across multiple contexts increasingly pertinent.
