Summary/Abstract: Two memory veins are fuelling certain hostilities between Poland and Ukraine which developed during the post-communist period. They are the Volhynia massacres and the “Vistula” action. Paradoxically, attempts at reconciliation have turned the work of determining who is a victim and who is a victimiser into a competition between victims.
