Summary/Abstract: The work explores the definitions of community and political community with the aim to develop the conceptual apparatus which allows to see politics not as "a certain objective sphere ..., which makes anything, that gets into it, political" (Borisova, 2009), but as a product of social interaction of subsystems of the society, the most important of which being political communication. The relationship between political communication and political communities is identified, the possibility of influence of political communities on the public administration system is considered, the role of mass communication and mass media in the political life of the society is clarified.
