Constitution of the Polish state in the conception self-governing Republic

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to analyse conceptions of government, including the so called self-governing Polish Republic, as presented by the first convention of the NSZZ “Solidarność” (Solidarity) and as emerging from the tradition of the left of the October 1956. These conceptions undermined completely the existing political structures in Poland and were based on radical reforms in the sphere of politics and economy which would bring democracy to enterprises as well.
