Summary/Abstract: RRD Tool (the acronym for round-robin database tool) aims to deal with time series data, such as network bandwidth, temperatures, CPU load etc. The data are stored in a database round-robin (circular buffer); such storage system footprint remains constant over time. It also includes tools to extract RRD data in a graphical format, for which it was originally intended[7]. There are links for Perl, Python, Ruby, Tcl, PHP and Lua. An independent full implementation and Java are called: rrd4j.
