The examination of the impact of individual acts of terrorism on the security situation in the country on the basis of selected attacks

Summary/Abstract: Terrorism is one of the most serious dangers in our present world. Modern techniques and tools used by terrorists make the attacks significantly more spectacular. Also the role of the media is consciously used by attackers as a form of threat, which affects people’s psyche. Terrorism is an unpredictable phenomenon that is not easy to describe or define mainly due to the fact that terrorist’s motives and methods of action vary. As the aims of terrorist attacks differ and victims may be random or specified, no one can feel safe anymore. The acts of individual terrorism, despite the fact that aimed at specific people, affect the sense of security of the whole nation and may cause various and unexpected reactions of society, from creating the sense of fear to acts of aggression.
