Summary/Abstract: The New Testament combines the inspiration with the action of the Holy Spirit. In 2 Tim 3 : 16 apostle Paul affirms: „All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in righteousness.” The term „theópneustos” – inspired by God in 2 Tim 3 : 16 is found in no other place of the New Testament. The adjective is not used in this verse in the natural sense, such as the inspiration of a musical work, but in the theological sense. The aim of the article is to analyze not only the expression itself and verse, but also the context in which the term is inserted.
