Summary/Abstract: Throughout the fall of 2008, excavations undergone for the foundation of an additional building pertaining to the “Vasile Alecsandri” High-School, Iasi municipality, unearthed various archaeological materials, a section of which concerns the present discussion. These findings (ceramics, glass and metal shreds) represent a chronologic segment between the second half of the 18th and first of the 20th centuries. However, amongst this material, several Roman pottery fragments, dated between the 1st and the 3rd century AD, have been identified. The Roman material covers three amphora types, Zeest 64, Kapitän II, and Zeest 69, one table amphora type and bowl type. Consequently, the recent Iași findings confirm, a new, economic connections between North-Danubian, Pontic and Mediterranean areas during the early Roman time. Therefore, a broader image regarding Free Dacians’ trade relations with the Roman Empire can be obtained, furthermore, from a ceramologic perspective, the domain that analyses and interprets a distinguishable and well-represented set of archaeological remains.
