Summary/Abstract: The author of the article presents Odysseus’ faithful wife, Penelope and her metamorphoses in 20th-century Greek poetry (N. Kazantzakis, Y. Ritsos, K. Anghelaki-Rooke, K. Charalambides, P. Boukalas). The analysisfocuses on the change in attitude to Penelope’s traditional image as well as the tendency of the poets to demythologizethis image.
