STRATEGIC ACTION DIRECTIONS IN THE PROCESS OF HARMONIZING NATIONAL LEGISLATION IN THE FIELD OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION WITH THE EUROPEAN UNION STANDARDS

Summary/Abstract: The harmonisation of national legislation framework, including the issues related to environmental protection, with the European standards in this field of concern, represents a primary important desideratum regarding Romania’s endorsement to European Community structures. From this point of view the knowledge and understanding of action programmes in the field of environmental protection in the European Community is a major imperative for all organisations, bodies and individuals carrying out activities in this field. Within this context, the paper aims to reach the following objectives: presentation of a synthetically analysis of the first t action programmes in the field of environmental protection issued in the European Community; to emphasise the relevant aspects and trends for Romania’s endorsement process to the European Community, comprised in the 6th action programme entitled “Environment 2010: our future, our choice”.
