Summary/Abstract: Starting from the perspective of the unitary creation that reflects a coherent system of symbols, as a mark of every writerʼs creative personality, it is implicitly understood that a large part of what we generically name the criticism of Eminescuʼs work tried to analyse, classify, and label this system. The used terminology, subsumed to the system, comprises an entire, partly synonymous series: theme, supra-theme, motif, myth, sign, symbol, ideation coordinates, categories, archetypes. The aim of our enterprise will be to identify the reactions of the aesthetic critical paradigm of Eminescuʼs work, avoiding touching here the exaggerations of the socialist realism, of the adepts of protochronism, or of other approaches which exceed, in a way or another, the aesthetic value.
