Selected aspects of life quality of Podkarpacie residents

Summary/Abstract: The article presents some aspects that affect the development of the quality of life. The qualityof life was based on objective and subjective factors. The objective factors are, among other things,the average monthly gross wage, unemployment rate registered. Quality of life due to subjective factorswas based on a survey conducted among the residents of Podkarpacie. It is difficult to determinea clear definition of the concept of quality of life. Each of us understands it differently. For some,it is enough to meet the basic needs and the availability of appropriate material goods. In turn, forthe others most important are security, human relations and the realization of life plans. The level ofquality of life is affected by many factors, among others, having employment and related appropriateremuneration. In 2014, gross salary in Poland exceeded 4 thousand PLN. However, the levelof remuneration in Podkarpackie was much lower, because it does not exceed 3.5 thousand PLN.Research shows that the people of Podkarpacie are most afraid of dismissal, which was indicatedby almost 60% of respondents. Job loss causes a decrease or loss of income, changing lifestyle andoften deteriorating state of physical and mental health. In the study, the biggest impact in terms ofthe quality of life of the inhabitants of Podkarpacie is put on health, education, the level of wealthand income levels. The quality of life is affected by a number of factors, which vary depending onthe socio-economic situation of the country concerned. In addition, problems as well as emergingopportunities which we encounter in everyday life affect the assessment of the quality of life. Currently,one of the aspects, which greatly affects the quality of life is work.
