Summary/Abstract: Among the various phenomena that significantly define today's reality, an important role play migrations. People move from place to place to search a better life, a secure life or space to pursue their own aspirations and dreams. As many migrants, as many reasons for migration and its consequences – the good ones, but these negative too. The consequences of migrations of young people can be seen in the context of the macro-social (eg. the demographic, economic) or micro-social (eg. the individual, family). When we analyze the negative effects of migration in the micro-social perspective, often the attention draws to the problems that the family (affected by migration) has to cope with. There are papers about the crisis in marital relationships, school or upbringing difficulties of left behind children, or the phenomenon of euro-orphan hood. But hardly anyone wonders about the consequences of migrations of adult children with whom their older age parents have to face. This issue – as yet–is insufficiently recognized in Polish literature. The aim of the present text is to discuss the situation of the elderly, becoming in the aftermath of the migration of their adult children. Based on the available research results, selected consequences of seniors separation with their children will be discussed.
