Monastic and lay wills from Coptic Jeme

Summary/Abstract: The article aims at presenting wills composed in Egypt shortly before and shortly after the Arab conquest, which, with one Greek exception, are written in Coptic. The main focus is to present changes that the testamentary model underwent at the end of the Byzantine period in Egypt as well as the common elements of the discussed Coptic wills and the Byzantine testamentary model known from Egypt.
