Summary/Abstract: The article concerns a manuscript of a Mass by the German composer Franz Danzi (1763–1826) that is part of the Gidle musical collections stored in the Archives of the Polish Province of the Dominican Order in Krakow. In the introduction, the article presents a brief characterization of the surviving musical manuscripts from Gidle. It moves on to consider the figure of the composer, touching on his biography and a description of his artistic activity as an instrumentalist and composer. The rest of this article describes the surviving manuscript of the Mass written by this composer, including descriptions of the present state of the manuscript, of preserved orchestral and choral parts, and of notes made on the manuscript by the copyist and conductors. The last section is a brief analysis of all the parts of the Mass cycle, with reference to its formal construction.
