Summary/Abstract: Hatay is a region where different cultures respecting each other’s existence have been synthesized in mutual interaction. Today, people with various cultural backgrounds live together in peace, displays a vast cultural prosperity in Hatay. There is a good communication, social and cultural interaction among all those ethnic groups. Among these groups, close relationships have been achieved due to their tolerant attitudes towards different ethnic groups and religions and their lack of conservatism in their traditions and faiths. As a result of this affinity, similar traditions, faiths and rituals have developed in time. The best examples of tolerance and interaction among the ethnic and religious groups can be seen in the shrine belief. People with different faiths can carry out the practices, which are generally similar, of their own belief systems in these shrines. The mosque and shrine built for Habibi Neccar is one of common religious places in which peoples from different religions gather and performe several beliefs and practices. Accordingly, it could be said that sacred places for Habibi Neccar constitute a climate for tolerans between religions and the name Habibi Neccar is seen in Antakya as the symbol for tolerans.
