Summary/Abstract: In this article we have presented the result of the three years of research (2005, 2009 and 2010) on Teasc Mountain, located close to Borsec in Harghita County. Teasc Mountain is a flatten high, favorable for alpine pasture, that make connection by paths to Moldova. In the same time is a very good place for oversee the surroundings, there for we believed it was used by Paleolithic communities to fallow the wild animal herd for hunting. The area is well known even before the First World War, while here have been discovered several stones with signs and symbols related with Szeklers origin. Some stones have been removed from their initial places into Gheorghieni Museum. Earlier the analyze of these stones was made by Şt. Kovács (1914) and G. Bakó (1962). We have investigated the mountain by ethno-archeological point of view (folds, abodes, streams); with this occasion have been discovered areas with opal as raw material, different artefacts related with Prehistory or later, as well as 43 stones with signs and symbols. The stones have been put on the map with GPS (fig. 1), starting from the sketch made by Şt. Kovács. We have made different photos and drawings for the signs and symbols, or some correction for those already published. Afterwards we have introduced these in our database. Statistical analysis prove (Figs. 66-74, 81) that many signs and symbols discovered on the stones located in Teasc Mountain present analogies with similar representations of Neolithic, Copper Age (displayed by Danubian Script especially on cult objects) or later ones. Some of signs and symbols have too analogies with the Paleolithic representations (A. Leroi-Gourhan) or they show astral constellations. Mountain is a sacral place in many civilizations. So many stones with signs and symbols discovered on the Teasc Mountain indicate in our opinion the place of a prehistoric sanctuary. The signs and symbols prove a system of communication used a long period of time, including prehistory. Traditions related with the mountain, the local legends maybe inspired the modern or actual Sheppard’s to let their own proof of passing through the area (modern or actual inscriptions).
